Easy DIY Bunting. )Gardening season is.

I knew I would love these stars again if they were nice and fresh and white.. We built these shutters using some basic 1×6 lumber, cut to look like little pickets, with some thin strips across the front for stability. The whole thing is held together by wood glue.

We just used clamps to hold it all together while it dried. We actually made these quite a while ago, so no pictures of the process! You can see that the construction is pretty simple from the back though.

I painted the front to make them look weathered using a bunch of different random paints that I had on hand at the time..I combined the two elements to make one big farmhousy piece of art for the wall!.

….I don’t know what that’s supposed to mean so don’t ask.

Kennedy helped me decide on the placement of the stars by holding them up while I stood back. You can see that I took these pictures the next day though and I had fixed up the tree a little by adding in some white berries and spreading the ornaments out.

Also, the baby gate that Chris made from an old crib was up like it normally is.. That poinsettia is super fake, which works for me because that means that it will last more than three days.. We have another real tree in the kitchen. For this one I just handed Kennedy and her friend a bag of green ornaments and a bag of gold ornaments and said “Go nuts!”  That’s my kind of tree decorating!.

The girls got bored of decorating the tree eventually and I didn’t have time to finish the job, so I just stuck the extras in some containers on the kitchen desk.. And that’s pretty much it!Kennedy and Jack have little trees in their rooms, but Jack’s still isn’t decorated yet.
